Validating your product idea

So you’ve been doing product research.

You’ve found some products that meet the checklist.

You’ve figured out way to differentiate / improve your product.

Now how do you go about validating you’re product idea.

It’s very important that you don’t just guess what people will like.

That’s a 50/50 chance your product will succeed.

We don’t want 50/50.

We want 90/10.

We need to know for sure that there’s people in the market that WANT what we’re going to sell.

There’s multiple ways we can do this.

#1 - Read the reviews of your competitors

This is absolutely the best space to get all the information you need directly from the customers mouth.

You will find Gold in the reviews.

Read the negative ones and positive ones.

You want to see what people like and what they don’t like.

Then make sure you keep what they like and fix what they don’t like.

2# - Speak to your target demographic

If you’re going to sell a dog product.

And you don’t have a dog.

You most likely don’t know shit about what people with dogs would want.

So instead of guessing.

Go speak with them.

You could go to a dog park and start speaking with people.

Or

You can join a reddit group full of dog owners and ask them what they think of your product idea.

“Hey guys I saw this product online that has _______ , would you buy something like that?”

You can even ask them on ways they would improve the product.

“Is there anything about “___________” that you have issues with?”

“If there’s one thing you would change about “__________” what would it be?

If you ask the right questions.

You’ll get all the information and validation you’ll need.

Keep working hard,
