Launching your first product

How much inventory should you order?

When you’re launching your first product.

Most Amazon FBA gurus will say to order 3 months worth of inventory because you don’t want to run out of stock.

But I don’t like that concept.

What happens if no one buys my product?

Now I’m stuck with 3 months worth of inventory.

This happened to me, I lost $15,000 launching a product that nobody bought (I’ll make a YouTube video on this in the future).

That’s why when I first launch any product the most amount of inventory I’ll order is 300pcs.

I’ve even bought as little as 70pcs (that was too low though).

150pcs - 300pcs is the sweet spot.

With this amount of inventory I’m able to find out if customers like my product without risking more than I have too.

And as soon as I see customers like my product I make another larger order.

This way you’re only out of inventory for a few weeks.

Obviously running out of stock is not ideal.

But if you have a good product, you’ll still be able make sales after running out of stock.

I’d rather run the risk of running out of stock for a few weeks.

Instead of losing money on 3 months worth of inventory.

See you at the top
